Toothpicks is a private, locally owned mobile dental and dental hygiene practice.

Michelle’s passion for dental hygiene began as a child. She enjoyed participating in her journey through braces, embraced her high school co-op position at a dental office, and in 1997 began her formal dental hygiene education at George Brown College in Toronto, ON.

After successfully graduating with both Honours and The Jay Lowry Award of Excellence, Michelle began practicing full time as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She took advantage of opportunities to gain knowledge and experience through a variety of continuing education courses, interprofessional collaborations and volunteering with multiple organizations.

Shortly after her younger sister’s diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, Michelle’s heart guided her to actively pursue removing barriers to oral health care for vulnerable persons, and thus, Toothpicks was founded.

Since 2009, Michelle and the Toothpicks Team of dental professionals have been making oral health care services accessible to residents of retirement and long-term care homes. It has proven to be not only a much-needed service, but an incredibly rewarding one.

Our office aims to provide residents of long-term care with basic dental and dental hygiene services with the simple goal of helping our patients keep their teeth. We have a dedicated team of experienced dental professionals who have the hearts and desire to serve residents of long-term care homes.

The services provided by Toothpicks are important and we truly are grateful to work collaboratively with so many wonderful families, care staff and long-term care homes to ensure that we can meet the needs of our clients oral healthcare needs.
